Liz KennyLiz Kenny grew up in the Chicago area on 5 acres with her parents and 3 brothers.  She enjoyed winter sledding  and a farm nearby, but the holidays were spent in the city with family.  She chose college in San Diego, and after graduation returned to Chicago, where she met her husband. It took 15 years but coming back to San Diego was on her list, and she’s back!

Liz and her husband chose to settle in La Costa.  The Encinitas school district and beautiful homes in Carlsbad were exactly what she wanted for her family, and her previous experience as a realtor nudged her back into real estate.

Karen MadeiraBorn and raised in San Antonio, Karen received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. Soon after graduating, she began her life long career in customer service, first as a flight attendant with American Airlines. Her flexible schedule allowed her to also help out in a friend’s real estate office, where her interest in this dynamic business was born! After having children and while working part-time, Karen achieved director status with a direct sales company, and later became a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor. Jeff Goodrick, RealtorJeff, shortly after graduating high school, started his career working for a San Diego based construction company, framing hundreds of custom and tract homes throughout Southern California.  After a few years of working on various job sites he started working for one of the nation’s largest home builders, managing various multi-state operations.

Mark grew up in Northern California and became accustomed to cold winters before discovering the luxury of Southern California. His love of sports and anything outdoors drew him to San Diego’s sunny climate and endless activities. Mark graduated San Diego State University in December 2015 and decided to stick around to enjoy the amazing lifestyle.

In fall of 2016 Mark received his real estate license and began working as an Associate Buyer’s Agent. First and foremost Samantha Gleaton is a mother to 3 wonderful girls.  Together she and her  husband are raising two very busy teenagers and a 10 year old who is going on 20!  In addition to family activities and sports, Samantha has a passion for photography and running which keeps her fulfilled and busy.

On Thursday, June 29th, Windermere Homes & Estates closed its doors to take agents and staff to spend a day volunteering at Casa de Amparo. This special foundation, Spanish for ‘Home of Protection’, was established in 1978 and recognized as a leader in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego and beyond. The mission of Casa de Amparo is “To support those affected by and at risk of child abuse and neglect, offering a range of programs and services that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships.”

Each year, Windermere dedicates one day to help make a positive difference in local communities. This annual tradition, dating back to 1984, has allowed Windermere to offer over 800,000 hours of community service, raising over $32 million for programs and organizations that provide clothing, shelter, emergency assistance, and other services to those most in need.

Collective contributions from Windermere agents, employees and public supporters have allowed our team to donate $18,000 towards Casa de Amparo, on top of 300 items donated and collected within each of Windermere’s local offices.

June is a California native, attending California State University in Long Beach.  As her children left the “nest” she went on to work as a Director of Sales and Marketing for ClubCorp, a premier leader in the Private Club industry.

Involved in conversion processes of taking land acquisitions over to a private country club, June managed and trained Membership Directors in Southern California, and established committees and councils for various clubs. To cap off thirty two successful years of experience in sales June received the highest award in the company, the “Hall of Fame”.

Having lived in Carlsbad for over 30 years, June knows the area well.   She came from a business of selling “fun” to people in the Club business, and for that reason wanted to continue that passion in the real estate field.

Finding the home of her dreams in the perfect location was huge for June when she underwent that process.   Her goal is to help others achieve the same satisfaction for themselves and their families.  When she researched brokerages she found Windermere to be the most comfortable fit.  June says, “Windermere feels like family and are most helpful in expanding my success.”

Paul Schumann has lived in Southern California since 1964 where he graduated high school in Montebello. He attended California State Long Beach where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1971.  Immediately following college, Paul joined a friend from college and began a career in Real Estate with innovative projects in Huntington Beach.  BY 1976 he and a friend build 13 4-plexes and a 42.000 sqft office building.  His hands on approach taught him much about the importance of building permits, variances and financing as he was the secretary treasurer of Andrus development. Trained in title insurance by Chicago title added to his ability to predict and solve complex easement problems.

Paul is a life-long learner and creative businessman.  He owned and operated an auto repair shop.  He learned about precious gems as he remodeled a jewelry store.  In addition to being a licensed real estate broker since 1980, he has held securities licenses 6 and 63 and did mortgage loans alongside the sales of homes. He has also negotiated debt settlements for over hundreds of business owners.

Paul is often known as a problem solver.  His unique ability to create win-win solutions makes him a valuable asset in negotiations.

Understanding the importance of health and balance, Paul is also certified as a holistic health practitioner.  His ability to pinpoint areas of stress and suggest holistic approaches often surprises people who only know his business skills.

Paul’s past wife and he were Foster parents to drug babies, earning an award from LA County for 5 years’ service.

Paul moved to San Diego County in 1987 to Oceanside, where he lived for 17 years.  He lived in Vista until the crash of 2009.  In 2011 he moved to Fallbrook and married his wife in 2014.  Paul loves animals.  He is often called an “animal whisperer” because of his uncanny abilities.  Dogs, cats, birds and horses are attracted to Paul.  While he doesn’t currently have a horse, he has never stopped wearing his signature cowboy hat.  He loves showing horse properties and meeting animal family members.

Sarah Smylie is a native Californian and loves all aspects of this beautiful state. She’s an avid beach goer, musician, hiker, and chaser of epic times! She fell in love with North County San Diego years ago and there’s nowhere else she would rather be. A San Diego native, John grew up in Del Mar and has enjoyed living and working in San Diego’s finest communities since returning from New York in 2001. He has also worked and served as an assistant manager in Rancho Santa Fe.

Sean moved to San Diego in 1995 from Cape Cod, like many, seeking warmer winters. He got his real estate license in 2002 and began working in the metro area villages of North Park, Kensington and Hillcrest, before relocating to North County in 2005. Crystal Joslin has been licensed since 2005 and has worked closely with Top Producing Teams in San Diego. Brenton Joslin has been a licensed contractor for 30 years. This husband-wife duo strives to be a resource and foster a culture of great relationships with both clients and associates.

As a California native, Crystal spent her adolescent years in Tehachapi California, enjoying the true essence of “small town” living. Brenton Joslin grew up the Bay area and went to school at Prospect High in Saratoga. Brenton has an identical twin brother, so there was no lack of fun growing up. Immediately out of high school, he and his brother found themselves living on their own.

At the age of 18, Brenton and his identical twin brother began working in the San Francisco Union. Five years later acquired journeyman status. In the mid 90’s they started their own flooring company and together, he and his brother began their careers in the Bay area. Growing up in the small town of Martinez, Maura was raised in the San Francisco East Bay, birthplace of Joe DiMaggio and the Martini. With a childhood spent in the pool, Maura had green hair to attest to that fact. While swimming once started as a hobby, it quickly became her passion, as Maura became a competitive swimmer through high school. She later graduated from UC Berkeley and spent many years in product marketing.

 

After making her way down to Southern California, Maura began her own home staging company which she owned for several years in North County San Diego. When she finished preparing & staging her clients’ homes for sale, they tended to wish she had visited years sooner!
