Paul Schumann has lived in Southern California since 1964 where he graduated high school in Montebello. He attended California State Long Beach where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1971.  Immediately following college, Paul joined a friend from college and began a career in Real Estate with innovative projects in Huntington Beach.  BY 1976 he and a friend build 13 4-plexes and a 42.000 sqft office building.  His hands on approach taught him much about the importance of building permits, variances and financing as he was the secretary treasurer of Andrus development. Trained in title insurance by Chicago title added to his ability to predict and solve complex easement problems.

Paul is a life-long learner and creative businessman.  He owned and operated an auto repair shop.  He learned about precious gems as he remodeled a jewelry store.  In addition to being a licensed real estate broker since 1980, he has held securities licenses 6 and 63 and did mortgage loans alongside the sales of homes. He has also negotiated debt settlements for over hundreds of business owners.

Paul is often known as a problem solver.  His unique ability to create win-win solutions makes him a valuable asset in negotiations.

Understanding the importance of health and balance, Paul is also certified as a holistic health practitioner.  His ability to pinpoint areas of stress and suggest holistic approaches often surprises people who only know his business skills.

Paul’s past wife and he were Foster parents to drug babies, earning an award from LA County for 5 years’ service.

Paul moved to San Diego County in 1987 to Oceanside, where he lived for 17 years.  He lived in Vista until the crash of 2009.  In 2011 he moved to Fallbrook and married his wife in 2014.  Paul loves animals.  He is often called an “animal whisperer” because of his uncanny abilities.  Dogs, cats, birds and horses are attracted to Paul.  While he doesn’t currently have a horse, he has never stopped wearing his signature cowboy hat.  He loves showing horse properties and meeting animal family members.

Paul’s core values are integrity, service and listening to client’s needs.  He works out of the Windermere office in Fallbrook.   He joined Windermere because of their integrity and their support for both agents and clients.  It is important to be knowledgeable and put the client’s needs first.

“So much experience, it’s easy to see that Paul has a lot to offer.  He knows so many aspects of our industry, is a great resource for clients and other realtors alike.  Pair that with his love of animals and people?  Unbeatable combination.  We’re lucky he chose to join our Fallbrook office,” says Brian Gooding, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.

A San Diego native, John grew up in Del Mar and has enjoyed living and working in San Diego’s finest communities since returning from New York in 2001. He has also worked and served as an assistant manager in Rancho Santa Fe.

Part of John’s vision is taking advantage of and leveraging the full mix of “social networking” including blogs, Facebook, and Twitter. “It is how everyone is communicating, and if you’re not promoting your properties through these venues, then you’re not promoting these properties,” says John.

Having lived in New York and Hong Kong with a background in marketing public relations, John brings a broader perspective and approach to every transaction: “Wherever you are in the world, everybody would like to have a nice home and a sense of family and community. It is truly a pleasure to help our clients achieve those things in what happens to be one of the finest places on earth.”

John has also served on the board of the Del Mar Village Association as well as the Del Mar Historical Committee. When he’s not selling real estate you can probably find him on the tennis court, or in his garden in Rancho Santa Fe. John has teamed up with John Wilcox to form The Real People Real Estate Team.

The Real People Real Estate Team has become a perfect fit. Sean and John work their individual strengths, but also provide additional support to each other, no matter the circumstances of the escrow. “This team effort creates a win-win situation for our clients – and they seem to appreciate it!”

“John’s grasp of social networking is remarkable.  Combine that with his experience in public relations and it adds up to an unbeatable combination for his sellers.  Always ahead of the curve, he’s a great asset to our team,” says Brian Gooding, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.

Sean moved to San Diego in 1995 from Cape Cod, like many, seeking warmer winters. He got his real estate license in 2002 and began working in the metro area villages of North Park, Kensington and Hillcrest, before relocating to North County in 2005. During his time as a realtor, he has focused much of his attention on working with buyers: “I really enjoy the challenge of working with buyers to find the right home to fit their needs. It’s like a puzzle, and it requires that I listen very closely to my clients’ comments and to learn to read them closely to find exactly the right fit.”

Having a previous work experience in corporate policies and procedures, Sean is very comfortable and familiar with the requisite documentation and procedures for real estate transactions, and works hand-in-hand with brokerage transaction coordination to ensure the escrow progresses smoothly. Sean has teamed up with John Wilcox to form The Real People Real Estate Team.

Crystal Joslin has been licensed since 2005 and has worked closely with Top Producing Teams in San Diego. Brenton Joslin has been a licensed contractor for 30 years. This husband-wife duo strives to be a resource and foster a culture of great relationships with both clients and associates.

As a California native, Crystal spent her adolescent years in Tehachapi California, enjoying the true essence of “small town” living. With only one high school, one market, and no shopping, kids in the neighborhood had seldom options for fun…she dreamed of moving to a city that with endless opportunities. With earlier aspirations for a career in the medical field, Crystal enjoyed troubleshooting and problem solving, and most of all, loved to help others. With strong convictions and determination, Crystal always pushed herself, no matter what she was doing.

At the age of 23, and in the midst of raising 2 boys, Crystal purchased a duplex in the Lake Tahoe area. From the mountains of Lake Tahoe to the Coast of San Diego, Crystal was able to experience all seasons throughout her life. With her growing boys in mind, Crystal decided upon the area with the best options for schooling, which lead her to settle down in Rancho Carrillo Carlsbad.

Crystal attained her license in 2005 and began working as a trusted “resource” for all her clients. Since she herself wouldn’t feel confident selling anything until she knew everything about it, she began working as a Transaction Coordinator to Top Producing Teams in San Diego. The thought of making home ownership attainable to others became Crystals biggest goal yet. Using her knowledge of contracts, awareness of potential risks for clients, and her unparalleled experience transitioning from back end to front end sales, Crystal has learned that the best way to assist others, is to arm yourself with knowledge first.

Brenton Joslin grew up the Bay area and went to school at Prospect High in Saratoga. Brenton has an identical twin brother, so there was no lack of fun growing up. Immediately out of high school, he and his brother found themselves living on their own.

At the age of 18, Brenton and his identical twin brother began working in the San Francisco Union. Five years later acquired journeyman status. In the mid 90’s they started their own flooring company and together, he and his brother began their careers in the Bay area. They worked hard and had the pleasure of working with many high profile people during the height of the dot com boom.

Needing a change of scenery, Brenton decided to open a division of his flooring business in Carlsbad. He bought his first home in 2001 in Rancho Carrillo and has never looked back. It was evident early on that Brenton had a keen eye for design and continued to align his business with an emphasis on arts and design with custom wood flooring. he has a strong clientele following that value these details in their homes. His ability to turn a house into a home is unparalleled and he is a cornerstone to the vision of The Joslin Team.

“A trusted resource to be sure.  Crystal digs into the details until she has a full grasp of the issues in a transaction and is solid on the intricacies of a deal.  We’re proud to have The Joslin Team in our Aviara office,” says Brian Gooding, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.

Growing up in the small town of Martinez, Maura was raised in the San Francisco East Bay, birthplace of Joe DiMaggio and the Martini. With a childhood spent in the pool, Maura had green hair to attest to that fact. While swimming once started as a hobby, it quickly became her passion, as Maura became a competitive swimmer through high school. She later graduated from UC Berkeley and spent many years in product marketing.

After making her way down to Southern California, Maura began her own home staging company which she owned for several years in North County San Diego. When she finished preparing & staging her clients’ homes for sale, they tended to wish she had visited years sooner! With each home she prepares, Maura is able to help her clients to average a higher sales price than they had originally hoped for.

Once attaining her Real Estate license in June 2017, Maura found her place at Windermere Homes & Estates. From their technology and marketing to their unique advertising techniques, Maura was happily paired up with a company that shared the same kind of history and experience as she.

As a 20 year San Diego veteran, Maura wouldn’t choose any other place on Earth to live. From her leisure time on the hiking trails to her full-fledged career in sales and staging, Maura feels like she has found her own slice of paradise in the place she gets to call home.

“In this business perception is everything.  With Maura’s gift for staging she has a head start as a listing agent.  Her homes present well and this is so important for her sellers.  We’re really looking forward to working with her in our Rancho Bernardo office,” says Rich Johnson, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.

Anthony Uhor spent the earlier years of his life moving from Garden Grove, to Guam, Murphy Canyon, Tierrasanta, until finally making his way to Escondido California. As a navy brat, Anthony was able to see all different parts of the world, experiencing totally different cultures and ways of life. Some of Anthony’s favorite childhood memories consisted of life in Guam, running around barefoot, climbing coconut trees and fetching papayas for lunch. Traditional islander fiestas, frequent typhoons, and crystal blue watered beaches were everyday life.

After moving back to the states to Imperial Beach, Anthony and his family lived in the area for 3 years before moving the small retirement town of Paradise where Anthony attended Jr. High School, High School, and Some College in the neighboring town of Chico.

While living in Imperial Beach was an easy transition, Paradise had a wide range of differences, from the terrain to the lifestyle. Growing up in both coastal and mountainous areas has given Anthony a broad taste of pastimes and activities that range from surfing to snowboarding, from mountain biking to desert motocross just to name a few.

As an outdoorsman, Anthony was always great when working with his hands, which lead him into some part time work in construction and carpentry. When realizing his abilities, Anthony went on to study architecture and drafting.

Once landing in San Diego with his family, Anthony ventured further into carpentry and found that the architecture of homes and buildings truly fascinated him. When working as a carpenter for a general contractor framing custom homes, Anthony found himself moving into traveling construction work framing Motel 6s, Travelers’ Inns and Economy Inns of America. Some of Anthony’s daily duties involved space layouts, system designs and geographic challenges.

With years spent working on construction, Anthony felt that real estate could be a perfect avenue to explore further into his interests. Once licensed, Anthony joined Windermere Homes & Estates to help neighbors and friends meet and achieve their real estate dreams, one property at a time.

“Anthony’s talent in construction makes him a natural for our industry.  It also makes his skill invaluable when it comes to inspections.  Being able to clearly educate clients in that part of the process is valuable, and we’re looking forward to Anthony’s participation in office discussions,” says Rich Johnson, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.

Born and raised in rural Indiana, Steven enjoyed lakeside living, bicycling, tennis and playing trombone in his school band.  But Steve went from small-town boy to globe-trotter when he enlisted in the United States Army.  Stationed all over the world for 12 years, he proudly served his country as an intelligence analyst.  Discharged in 1999, Steve opted for the sunny West Coast, where he worked as a civilian contractor for the Navy Marine Corps’ Network Operations Center at North Island Naval Air Station.  In 2002 Steve also joined Advanced Aquatics, Inc., which he co-owns and manages still today.

Steve eventually settled in Escondido because of its “pockets” of rural atmosphere.  He met Faye Hines and it didn’t take long before the two forged a close bond.  Faye inspired Steve to obtain his real estate license, and when the accomplished this in 2014 he joined The Hines Team!  He has since become a Certified Relocation Specialist and First Time Buyer Specialist.  Steve has a passion for working with active duty military personnel and veterans.  He describes himself as “honest, communicative and organized,” and derives great joy form helping people achieve their goal of home ownership.

In his spare time Steve enjoys the beach, sight-seeing and visiting historic landmarks.  Steve’s greatest source of pride is his three grown children; a son who served with the US Air Force in Afghanistan, another son who twice deployed to Iraq while serving in the US Marine Corps, and a daughter who is currently studying to ear her Master’s Degree in psychology.

“Steve’s time in the military gave him the gift of travel as well as the opportunity to connect with others in a very tangible way.  Solving problems and talking through details with his clients is his strength, and we’re delighted that he has joined us at our new Escondido location,” says Rich Johnson, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.

Born in Los Angeles, Amy’s family relocated to Escondido when she was 9 years old.  Years later, marriage, children and a thriving business with her husband kept Amy very busy.  But seeing great potential in her, family friend Faye Hines encouraged Amy to pursue a real estate career.  In 1998 Amy earned her license and joined the Hines Team.  In the years that followed she not only had helped buyers find property, Amy has also purchased several investment properties of her own.

Though her children are now grown Amy continues to stay busy, working in multiple aspects of business.  She loves the whole real estate purchasing process and derives great satisfaction in getting to know buyers, learning their needs and desires, and ultimately finding them a home they truly love.  Applying what she has learned through her own investing, along with the knowledge she has gained through the Hines Team, Amy is able to skillfully guide her clients through the real estate purchase process.

In her spare time Amy enjoys time with her family, which includes her husband, their four children and four grandchildren.  She loves hiking and just enjoying the great outdoors…usually with her faithful canine companion, Rex the Rhodesian Ridgeback.

“Having so much experience through her own transactions has given Amy the ability to make her clients’ deals that much smoother.  She hears the unsaid, and that’s a talent most appreciated in this industry.  We are truly lucky she chose to join us at our new Escondido office,” says Rich Johnson, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.

Born in the Los Angeles area, Apryl spent her growing years living alternately between the Midwest and the West Coast.  She returned to her native California in 1993, and made Escondido her permanent home.  As an RDA she enjoyed a successful career in the dental field, but when Apryl and her husband purchased their first home in 2002 she became intrigued with the real estate industry.  It wasn’t until 2008, during one of the most severe economic crisis in US history, that April made the bold transition to real estate sales.  Good fortune smiled on Apryl when she was assigned a mentor:  Faye Hines.  By 2011, impressed with Apryl’s abilities, Faye invited her to join the Hines Team.

Apryl truly enjoys the team dynamic and appreciates the value of multiple individuals, with differing talents, working together toward a common goal.  But beyond that she views the Hines Team as extended family members.  Apryl enjoys working with buyers and sellers, but says her favorite task is handing first-time buyers the keys to their new home.

When she’s not working Apryl and her family enjoy camping and boating at Lake Havasu during the spring and summer, and desert recreation like driving their dune buggy at Glamis during the winter months.  Apryl also enjoys quilting and sewing, and spending quality time gardening with her daughter, a college student who aspires to become a florist.

“Apryl has roots here in Escondido, making her a great resource.  Clients and agents alike know she’s a local expert, and we’re extremely happy to have her join our new Escondido office,” says Rich Johnson, co-owner of Windermere Homes & Estates.
